How Did We Get Here?
We didn't grow up dreaming of poop bags...
Curtis started GIVE A SH!T™ with his wife Katie after a lifetime of compulsive animal rescue missions and an unrelenting urge to pick up trash.
No really, diagnosed OCD. If he saw rubbish on the ground, he had to stop. If he saw something furry on the side of the road, he'd pull over mid-highway just to make sure it wasn't a hurt animal.
This started to take up a lot of time and energy, so Curtis started thinking: What if I could build something that helped both of these compulsions? Trash and animals.
Then One Day...
On a walk with Katie, after picking up what felt like the 20th plastic poop bag, he noticed the public bin overflowing with more plastic bags, all full of dog sh!t destined to sit in landfill for hundreds of years.
He turned to Katie and said:
“Babe… let’s create compostable poop bags. Like, actually compostable.”
Not a Lifelong Dream...
Just a realization that someone had to do better, and it sure as hell wasn’t going to be the greenwashed big brands slapping “biodegradable” on plastic and calling it a day.
(Spoiler: “oxo-degradable” = microplastics. We said hell no.)
So we built GIVE A SH!T®

Back in 2022, Jodie was deep in her Environmental Science degree when she took one look at what her brother Curtis was building and said "I'm in." Three years later, she's the creative force behind the brand, the voice behind the content, and the driving force of every rescue programme. Jodie is on her 31st foster animal.
