Are these actually compostable, or is this greenwash?

2 certifications covering 3 compostability standards - OK Compost HOME, OK Compost INDUSTRIAL by TÜV Austria, plus ASTM D6400. Disintegrate in 6 months, fully composted in 12. No microplastics, no "biodegradable" loophole.

Why do these bags have handles?

Two reasons. You can tie the handles shut for a fast, sealed package, no fumbling a knot with cold fingers. And once it's tied, you can loop it over your wrist or hook a finger through, so your hands stay free for the leash on the walk home.

How are these different from your other bags?

Same plant-based material, same TÜV Austria home and industrial certs, same cardboard box. This one is standard-length with tie-handles, in a pantry roll. The extra-long version adds bag length to keep your hand further from the package. The standard rolls skip the handles. Pick by how you carry.

What's wrong with "biodegradable"?

"Biodegradable" has no timeline and no standard. Most "biodegradable" bags break into microplastics over decades. Compostable means we have proof of breakdown, plus a certificate to back it.

Are they strong enough for big dogs?

Built thick and tested on Great Danes, Mastiffs, and multi-dog walks. The neck is long enough to tie even with gloves on. Won't tear, won't leak.

Will these fit my dispenser?

No, and that's on purpose. These come as a pantry roll plus a pantry dispensing pack, not the small rolls for a leash holder. You tear off a bag or two, pop them in your pocket, and head out the door. If you want rolls that load into a walk-along dispenser, grab our standard rolls instead or our long handled bags.

Where does the 10% of profits actually go?

Feeds rescue dogs mostly through our partners at the Soi Dog Foundation, plus other local rescues we support. Goal: 100,000 animals fed by 2030.

Why subscribe and can I cancel?

15% off your first subscription order, then 10% off every order after. Ships automatically so you never get caught mid-walk with empty pockets. Cancel any time from your account - no email gymnastics, no "please stay" guilt trips.

Double Certified

We Don't Just Say It. We Prove It.

Home or industrial. Either way, it breaks down in 180 days.

Most "compostable" bags are certified for one composting environment, if they're certified at all. Ours are certified for both. OK Compost HOME for your backyard bin. OK Compost INDUSTRIAL for municipal facilities. Tested and verified against three of the toughest standards on the planet: EN 13432 (Europe), NF T 51-800 (France), and ASTM D6400 (North America).

It breaks apart in 180 days and finishes as soil within a year. In your compost. Not in 500 years. Not "eventually." Skeptical? Good. Read the certifications. They check out.

From Corn to poop bag

Made From Plants. Not Petroleum.

Most poop bags start their life as crude oil and end it as microplastic.

Ours start as plants and end as dirt. Here's the journey every bag takes, from the field it grew in to the compost pile it returns to.

Cornstarch

The backbone.
Sourced from corn, cornstarch gives every bag its body and structure. It's the plant-based foundation that replaces what would normally be petroleum-based plastic. Same job. Wildly different origin story.

Bio-Based PBAT

The strength.
A plant-derived compostable polymer that holds it all together. It's what lets the bag take on a 50lb dog's worst day without splitting open, then break down completely when it's done. Strong as plastic. Made from plants instead.

Edible Glycerin

The flex.
Yes, edible. Plant-derived glycerin makes the bag flexible and tear-resistant, so it bends without breaking. It's safe enough to eat (not that we recommend it) and that should tell you everything about what we're not putting in here.

Back to dirt

The whole point.
180 days after it leaves your hand, your bag is already breaking down. Within a year, it's soil. The plants that became a bag become plants again. That's a circle. That's not marketing.

Now You Know What's In the Bag. Want Some?

Frequently asked questions

Are these actually compostable, or is this greenwash?

Yes, and we have the certs to prove it. Our bags carry OK Compost HOME and OK Compost INDUSTRIAL from TÜV Austria, plus ASTM D6400. In a healthy home compost they break apart within 180 days and finish as soil within a year. No microplastics. No "biodegradable" loophole.

What's wrong with "biodegradable"?

"Biodegradable" sounds like the right answer until you read the small print. The word has no legal definition, no timeline, no required standard. Most "biodegradable" bags are just plastic that breaks into smaller and smaller pieces of plastic over decades or centuries. Microplastics by another name. Compostable is different: the bag breaks down into nutrient-rich soil within a specified timeframe, and to make the claim we hold third-party certifications that audit the process. The difference matters when you're trying not to leave 400 years of plastic behind.

What are these actually made from?

Plant-based, primarily cornstarch sourced from American farms. The cornstarch is bioplastic-grade: strong enough to handle big dogs and big loads, soft enough to break down into compost in months instead of centuries. No petroleum-based plastic. No fossil-fuel byproducts. No surprise additives.

Will they still compost in a landfill?

Honest answer: not as intended. Landfills are oxygen-starved, so nothing composts well there. The good news: even in landfill conditions, our bags break down in roughly 5 years, compared to roughly 500 years for a standard plastic bag. The best place for them is a home compost pile or municipal compost collection - that's where they're designed to perform.

What happens if the roll gets wet before I use it?

Ideally, keep them in a dry, cool place. They're stable under normal humidity. A little moisture won't kick off the breakdown process. If a roll gets left wet for an extended period, they will start to compost on their own. That's not a defect. That's them doing exactly what they're designed to do.

Are they strong enough for big dogs?

Built thick and tested on Great Danes, Mastiffs, Wolfhounds, and multi-dog walks. The walls are extra-thick to prevent finger-through, and the bags hold under twist and tie. The neck is long enough to tie a proper knot even with winter gloves on. If you walk a big dog, or two medium dogs at once, these were designed with you in mind.

Will these fit my dispenser?

Yes. They fit all standard poop-bag dispensers. Roll diameter matches the industry standard, so they work with whatever dispenser is on your leash, fanny pack, glove box, or stroller. If you don't have a dispenser, the rolls fit easily in a coat pocket.

Can I use these for cat litter or other household waste?

Yes. Customers use them for cat litter, diaper bags, car spills, grass clippings, and small kitchen waste. Same strength, same odor-locking, same compostability. One bag, many uses. However, we do have more specialised bags for cleaning up cat litter.

What about the packaging?

Cardboard rollers, not plastic. Recycled cardboard box. We thought about every part of what arrives at your door, because shipping plant-based bags inside plastic packaging would defeat the point.

Where does the 10% of profits actually go?

10% of profits goes to rescue dogs, predominantly through our partners at the Soi Dog Foundation, who do extraordinary work supporting strays and rescues across Thailand. We also support other local rescues. Cumulative goal: 100,000 animals fed by 2030. We track every meal and we're transparent about where we are on that journey.

How fast do you ship?

Orders ship within 1-2 business days from our US warehouse, typically arriving within 2-5 days. Free shipping on every order. If something goes wrong, we want to know.

Why subscribe and can I cancel?

15% off your first subscription order, then 10% off every order after. Ships automatically so you never get caught mid-walk with empty pockets. Cancel any time from your account — no email gymnastics, no "please stay" guilt trips. We've heard the horror stories from other brands and refuse to play the same game.
